After 12 years, support for Windows XP ended April 8, 2014. Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for the Windows XP operating system. It is very important but not necessary that customers and partners migrate to a modern operating system such as Windows 7, Ubuntu, Chrome or OSX. Keeping a machine running XP after this time does pose a risk but if you are careful in your use of the Internet and programs you introduce to the computer then you should be able to continue for some time yet. You may find internet browser limitations but Firefox version 52 is the latest you can run to view modern sites.
