What does High Wycombe's latest McDonald's looks like?
The first official customers that were served at High Wycombe’s latest McDonald’s restaurant admitted that the honour was ‘completely by chance’.
Michael Caselli and his partner, Kate Love, visited the Crest Road establishment on the morning of Wednesday, April 24 moments before their 11am opening.
The couple, who currently reside in Chelsea, West London, were in Buckinghamshire for a day of shooting Churchills in Lane End, and decided to stop over at a local fast-food joint.

Upon discovering that the venue was brand new, the duo decided to wait for the doors to officially open and be the first customers at the town’s latest McDonald’s branch.
Michael, who is from Connecticut but has lived in the UK for 25 years, told the Free Press: “We were driving by as we’re going shooting in Churchills and we should have been there about 10 minutes ago.
“But we decided to pop in to get a quick McDonald’s and they mentioned they were just about to open so we decided to stick around to be the first customers.

“We had no idea this was happening and we managed to get lucky as we were popping by.
“I’ve never done it before so I thought, ‘let’s go to a grand opening of McDonald’s, why not?’
When asked what the difference between McDonald’s in the US compared to the UK, he said: “I think the main difference is that they cancelled the apple pie.
“It’s the best item on the menu – that’s one of the big differences.
“With the sizes, they supersize everything over there but I think these are the same.
“The quality is the same.”

His partner, Kate, added: “I used to work in McDonald’s 25 years ago and I was at the opening of my local drive-thru in Salfords in Surrey.
“This is very much the circle of life as I’m now here but on the other side.”
The latest establishment in the South Bucks town is based directly opposite an Aldi supermarket and is only a few hundred yards away from an Asda supermarket which also consists of a McDonald’s.
It boasts two floors, a drive-thru, a designated area for delivery drivers/riders, and eco-friendly décor.
The official ribbon cutting was conducted by the town's Mayor, Paul Turner (Image: NQ)
There is also a large car park to boot, with the building being next to several other major chains such as Costa Coffee and TGI Fridays.
Alan Butchers, who owns all four McDonald’s restaurants in the town, along with the four in Hemel Hempstead, added: “We’re delighted to be opening up in High Wycombe.
“This has created 80 new jobs and if I’m totally honest, I think we’re [McDonald’s] is underrepresented in High Wycombe.

“The outlet in the Asda just down the road is more of a concession and this is a restaurant.
“This is an opportunity to have a bigger restaurant to serve more customers in a restaurant with a drive-thru, a sit-in, click-and-serve and delivery.
“This gives us more flexibility to our customers.
“It’s very hard to open a new restaurant but we’ve got a brilliant team who have put this together.”
