POLICE have launched an investigation after a ewe was killed in Marlow Common.

Thames Valley Police officers in Marlow have received reports of "dogs worrying and attacking livestock."

Several incidents have happened in Hughenden and Marlow.

Police said in Marlow Common, a ewe was killed and has now left two orphaned lambs.

"Not only is this a cost to the farmer, but the lambs need special milk at additional cost," police added.

A spokesman said: "Please take care in ensuring that dogs are kept on leads within our rural areas.

"As much as we all like to think our dogs have good recall, when faced with something activating their natural hunting instincts, dogs might not return.

"Failure to keep your dog under control could result in a hefty fine and possible court action."
