A Ford Focus driver, four and a half times over the drink drive limit recklessly caused an accident in Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police said the crash happened near Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

The culprit was discovered later in the vicinity of Salcey Forest.

Police said he was "happily swigging from a bottle of whiskey at the time."

He said: "I don't remember being involved in a crash."

Thames Valley Police's roads policing unit team said: "When stopped, the driver stated that he didn't remember being involved in a crash - but that might have been because he was a whopping four and a half times the drink drive limit!"

The driver is now in custody.
