Chalfont St Peter's High Street decked with England flags
The High Street in Chalfont St Peter is currently decked out in many England flags to celebrate St George’s Day next week.
The annual day, which is also referred to as ‘England’s Day’, takes place annually on April 23.
And to get into the spirit, volunteers from the village were seen putting up flags along the stretch of road in the morning of Sunday, April 14.
In a post that was shared on the Chalfont St Peter’s Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, they said: “A beautiful morning putting the flags out [April 14].
“Thank you to all those who gave up their Sunday morning to decorate our village for St George’s Day.
“Please remember that local businesses fund the street decorations.
"Now more than ever it’s important to support local.”
Saint George is officially the patron saint of England, who died on April 23, 303.
He was executed by decapitation but is considered to be a martyr in the Christian world.
