Beaconsfield London End crash kerb finally repaired
A CRASH hotspot in Beaconsfield has finally been fixed after week long days in the council repairing it.
A kerb along London End in Old Town, which an 81-year-old struck, was in need of repair prior to his accident.
John Evans was left "shaken" and felt "psychologically damaged" after the crash happened on February 3.
The Howe Drive has been calling for Buckinghamshire Council to repair the raised kerb ever since.
Data shown on crashmap.co.uk shows 46 incidents have been reported along that stretch of Old Town Beaconsfield since 1999, with the data last being updated in 2022.
The stats show that 39 incidents have been deemed as slight, six as serious and one being fatal.
The kerb has now been repaired by Bucks Council, who says it took "longer than desired."
Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport said: “Damage to the highways infrastructure at this location was reported and the replacement parts ordered immediately.
"Unfortunately, repairs have taken longer than desired, due to delays in waiting for the parts needed to be available. We can confirm that both the post and bollard are now in full working order having been fixed earlier this month.”
