A family have been offered a lifetime ticket to Pub in the Park after an unexpected birth saw a couple rushing from the venue.

Jamie Smith, 34, and Sophia Todd, 28, had only arrived at Higginson Park on Saturday, May 18 when Sophia's waters broke a week before their baby's due date.

The pair previously told the Bucks Free Press about the "shock" as they were mid way through watching a cooking demonstration.

“You sort of go into autopilot – neither of us knew what to expect, and you just don’t plan for that sort of thing. You don’t know how you’re going to feel when it happens – it was a lot," they said.

Sophia gave birth to a baby girl, Ruby Rose, on Monday, May 20, and the couple were told they had to return to the hospital yesterday, May 23, after she was diagnosed with jaundice.

Now Pub in the Park have reached out to the family to offer a lifetime ticket to the baby - alongside Mum and Dad.

A spokesperson from Pub in the Park said "We always expect the unexpected in live events, but this is the first time we’ve had a baby make an appearance during the show.

"We’d like to wish Mum, Dad and Baby well and to invite them to get in touch when they are all settled. A huge thanks also, to the security and medical teams who helped on the day."

Other unexpected events that have happened at Pub in the Park over the years have included a proposal and a wedding.
