A raft of new cast members have been confirmed for the second series of locally-based and filmed TV show The Marlow Murder Club.

While crews have already been spotted around the town this summer, indicating that the second series of U&DRAMA’s adaptation of Robert Thorogood’s murder-mystery novel is well underway, the production company still has a few surprises up its sleeve.

The cosy-crime show follows Marlow locals Judith, Becks and Suzie as they become unlikely detectives in the wake of a series of murders in their sleepy, unassuming home.

While its first season was based on Thorogood’s novel of the same name, its second outing largely diverges from the latter books in the series to focus on original, standalone stories penned by the author alongside Midsomer Murders screenwriters Julia Gilbert and Lucia Haynes.

And U&DRAMA – formerly UKTV – has now confirmed several new arrivals joining Samantha Bond, Jo Martin and Cara Horgan in their sleuthing exploits – including Nina Sosanya, who starred in Netflix’s hugely popular Baby Reindeer earlier this year, and Tom Stourton, of Stath Lets Flats and All My Friends Hate Me fame.

Also joining the central trio to help – or hinder – them solve three murder mysteries over a six-episode run are Caroline Langrishe, of the BBC’s Lovejoy, Poldark’s James Wilby, Maryland’s Andrew Knott, Patrick Robinson of Sitting in Limbo and Samantha Womack, who you might recognise from Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Hugh Quarshie, who played Ric Griffin on Holby City for nearly 20 years, Elizabeth Bennett, previously seen in Father Brown and Doctors, Camilla Beeput, of Hijack and The Suspect and James Gaddas, who has appeared in Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, will also feature in the latter half of the new series.

The Marlow Murder Club's second outing is expected to air on U and U&DRAMA in 2025, and all episodes of the first series are free to stream at https://u.co.uk.
