NORTHOLT Leisure Centre in Eastcote Lane North is celebrating its 10th anniversary by hosting a family open day on Saturday, January 25, 11am-4pm.

There will also be the chance to meet Paralympic, World, European and Commonwealth swimmer Alice Tai, who seven gold medals at the World Paras in 2019.

She has been nominated for a Disability Award at  the Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year event.

Alice swims with Ealing Swimming Club and is an ambassador for Everyone Active, which operates the centre in partnership with Ealing Council.

She trains at Northolt each week and will be joining a children’s class in the pool from 12-1pm. Places are limited so pre-booking at reception is recommended.

The class will be open for youngsters aged six-plus who can swim at least 25m.

Alice will also take time to chat to families, so youngsters are encouraged to come with a few questions for her to answer!

Swimming is being celebrated at the open day with everyone able to swim for £1.

Back on dry land, people are welcome to use the gym for free. They can also try their hand at some fitness challenges on the gym floor plus a cycling challenge in reception.

Younger visitors can enjoy the recently-installed soft play area for free.
