An elderly patient is alleged to have been hit by a healthcare worker after they were identified as Jewish, according to reports by The Jewish Chronicle.

A patient at Northwick Park Hospital, who wished not to be identified, told The Jewish Chronicle that a healthcare worker at the hospital assaulted another Jewish patient.

The healthcare worker is alleged to have hit a patient on the knee after they were identified as Jewish, and it is said the patient was lifted up and shaken when he complained about the pain.

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust says that the incident has been referred to the Metropolitan Police.

The trust believes that the alleged assault is said to have taken place a few weeks ago in one of the hospital wards.

It is believed that neither patients knew each other before entering the ward.

A spokesperson for the North West London University Trust said: “We can confirm that we recently received a complaint about an alleged assault that is said to have occurred a few weeks ago on one of our wards.

“We have acknowledged the complaint and are referring it to the Metropolitan police for investigation as we normally would in these circumstances.”
