A HAYES has been jailed for a double stabbing in Yeading.

Daniel Bell, 43, of Shakespeare Avenue, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday (4) to 15 years for two counts of causing grievous bodily harm.

He had been convicted following trial at the same court in February.

The stabbing happened near the junction of Willow Tree Lane and Reynolds Road, off Yeading Lane.

Two 21-year-old men were taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment and later went on to make full recoveries.

The victims had been walking along Willow Tree Lane with a third person when Bell walked past them with a dog on a lead.

As they passed, one of the victims briefly petted the dog. Bell said nothing and everyone continued on their way.

Bell, though, returned moments later and an argument took place during which he stabbed the victims in the neck before running away.

Detectives pored through CCTV footage before finding and an image of the suspect, which was publicised. As a result of the appeal, Bell presented himself to police.

Det Con Christina Bignell said: “There was no justification for the attack that put two men in hospital.

“It was pure luck that their injuries were not far more serious and it is right that Bell has been held to account for needlessly violent actions.”
