A High Wycombe South American steakhouse says it is open and "stronger than ever" after a police closure and "suspected cannabis factory" probe.

In a statement shared on social media, Caipirão Restaurant said that the family-run business had attended a court hearing following an "attempt" to close the venue.

It said that the court decided that "no further action" would be taken against the Frogmoor restaurant.

This follows an investigation into what Thames Valley Police (TVP) described as a "suspected cannabis factory", and two arrests on suspicion of drug offences after a large police presence was reported at Caipirão on March 13.

At the time, a TVP spokesperson stated: “A 20-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, and possession with intent to supply controlled drugs of Class A and Class B.

"He has since been released on conditional bail.

TVP also enforced a 24-hour ban on entry to the restaurant on March 14 amid antisocial behaviour, nuisance and disorder fears.

At the time, the force stated that it had made an application had been made to High Wycombe Magistrates' Court to close the site to anyone, except people specified by the police, for up to three months.

On April 7, Caipirão Restaurant said: "Today, we attended the hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court following a further attempt to close our business.

"We are pleased to confirm that, after careful consideration of all the evidence presented, the Court decided on No Further Action against Caipirão Restaurant.

"This outcome reinforces what we have maintained from the beginning — that we have always operated as a responsible, family-run business with no involvement in any unlawful activity.

"We would like to thank our legal team for their professionalism and support throughout this process.

"Caipirão remains open, stronger than ever, continuing to serve our community with dedication, honesty, and respect."

The venue added that it will be "taking steps" to address "damage" to its reputation and called allegations that had been made "defamatory".

It also thanked customers, friends, and the local community for continued support during this "difficult time".

In its post, the restaurant shared a scanned image of the closure notice, which had been pasted on its door when it was closed by police.

This had stated that there were "reasonable grounds to suspect that the use of the premises has resulted, or (if the notice is not issued) is likely soon to result, in nuisance to members of the public, or that there has been, or (if the notice is not issued) is likely soon to be, disorder near these premises associated with the use of the these premises, and that they notice is necessary to prevent the nuisance or disorder from continuing, recurring or occurring".
