High Wycombe-based Red Kite Community Housing has said it is investing in local people with its new grant scheme.

The housing company, based at Frederick Place near Loudwater, said it is providing funding to projects through its Springboard and Starting Blocks funding streams to 'help communities come together and thrive'.

Springboard provides larger grants to charities and community groups delivering complex projects that play a vital role in supporting local communities, while Starting Blocks offers up to £2,000 for smaller initiatives that make a difference locally.

Recent funding has supported a wide range of projects across the district including Micklefield Judo Club’s Finding Your Feet programme, which helps older people improve balance, confidence and independence, and Amazing Therapy’s Thrive project, which delivered wellbeing support to Red Kite tenants at a crucial time.

Investment has also backed projects focused on skills and connection, including Social Link’s OpportuniTea Café in Holmer Green and Wycombe Homeless Connection’s Prevent Homeless Project and Project Outreach at Kings Church High Wycombe.

Alongside larger schemes, smaller grants have enabled community-led activities such as events at sheltered housing schemes, a hedgehog talk in Marlow and spring bulb planting across several neighbourhoods.

Funding has also supported accessibility and inclusion, including equipment for visually impaired listeners to access local news and festive initiatives like Wycombe Santa, helping vulnerable families over Christmas.
