A woman in her eighties has been hospitalised after a crash between two cars in High Wycombe.

Emergency services were called to Cressex Road at around 3.40pm on Sunday afternoon (May 3) after a crash between a black Volkswagen Golf and a Citroen C3.

The driver of the Citroen, a woman in her eighties, was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The driver of the VW Golf, a 40-year-old High Wycombe man, is alleged to have left the scene.

He was later arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A police spokesperson said: "We are aware that footage of the incident and the moments leading up to it is circulating on social media.

"We ask members of the public not to share this footage and instead submit any relevant videos or images via the dedicated online portal for this investigation.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to contact police on 101 or report online, quoting investigation reference 43260217431."
