A brand new adventure playground is now open and ready to welcome families.

The Wild Wood Adventure Playground at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire opened on August 1 after 10 months of construction.

Funded by The Rothschild Foundation and created by TouchWood Play, the playground is designed for children aged two to 12 and features towers, tunnels, slides, and swings.

Joe Cooper, founder of TouchWood Play, said: "When people use playgrounds nowadays, it’s no longer just a certain age group, it’s actually all ages and all abilities who seek to engage in play.

"We focused closely on providing a range of different entry-level experiences in play throughout the site, so the whole family can enjoy the adventure together."

More than 17 tonnes of wood from five different tree species were used in the playground’s construction.

Features include 'The Lost Mansion,' a playful structure inspired by Waddesdon Manor, and the 'Plaviary' treetop walkway.

Pippa Shirley, director of Waddesdon Manor, said: "I am so excited the new playground is now open, bringing the garden and woodlands to life for children and families.

"TouchWood have been such collaborative partners and have helped us create something which could only be found here at the Manor – reflecting so much that is distinctive about our wonderful site."

Visitors can also enjoy a woodland trail along Miss Alice’s Drive, as well as picnic spaces, cafés, and other family-friendly events during the summer.

Admission to the playground is included with a Grounds Entry ticket and is free for National Trust members.
