Here are the roadworks that will impact Buckinghamshire over the next few weeks.

In total, 340 schemes are being delivered this year, which include resurfacing projects, major drainage improvements, footway works and road safety projects on specific sections of the highways.

This is part of Buckinghamshire Council’s rolling £120m investment in roads across the county over four years.

Work is taking place at the following locations through Buckinghamshire Highways' Strategic Highway Maintenance Programme.

The works are part of a rolling programme of countywide work and some activities are extremely weather dependent, therefore dates shown are subject to change at short notice.

Carriageway resurfacing

A413 London Road, Little Missenden (Thursday, February 5 to Wednesday, February 11) 

The works will be carried out using a road closure, in operation Monday to Friday between 19:00 - 07:00.

Drayton Road, Newton Longville (Tuesday 10 February to Tuesday 17 February) 

The works will be carried out using a road closure, in operation Monday to Friday between 19:00 - 07:00.

Footways Reconstruction

Rose Avenue, High Wycombe (Monday, January 5 to Friday, March 6)

The works will be carried out using a footway closure and temporary traffic lights, in operation Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00 and Saturday 08:00 – 15:00.    

Drainage Improvement Works

Main Street Twyford (Monday 12 January to Friday 27 February)

The works will be carried out using two-way signals, in operation Monday to Friday 09:30 - 15:30.

Bridge Maintenance

Marlow Suspension Bridge (Monday 3 November to April 2026)

Temporary works for jacking the bridge – Micro piling programmed from 14/01/2026 to 13/02/2026. These works will take place underneath the bridge, with minimal impact on traffic (no road closures or lane closures). The only visible changes will be some suspended parking bays near the park and Pound Lane Car Park.

Coring Investigation Works

Priory Crescent, Aylesbury (Thursday, February 12)

Coring Investigation Works using a ‘Give and Take’ traffic management in operation between 08:00 to 18:00.

Warrender Road, Chesham (Thursday, February 12)

Coring Investigation Works using a ,Give and Take, traffic management in operation between 08:00 to 18:00.

 

Traffic Calming

Marroway and Worlds End Lane, Weston Turville (Monday, February 9 – Tuesday, February 10)
Installation of village gates, speed signs, road markings and name plates using two-way signals in operation between the hours of 09:30 to 15:00.

 

Vehicle Restraint Systems

Wychwood Gardens, High Wycombe (Friday, February 6 – Friday, February 13)
Safety barrier repairs using a road closure in place between the hours of 08:00 to 17:00.

Streetlighting

Countywide signs and bollards replacements (Monday, February 9 February to Friday, March 27)

This programme of work will replace 288 damaged or deteriorated signs and bollards across Buckinghamshire, addressing safety‑critical issues such as collision damage, structural failures, missing plates, and failed illumination. The works span all network areas.

Other Works (non-council works)

Five points roundabout, Iver (From Monday, January 19)
The latest phase of work began on Monday 19 January at Five Points Roundabout in Iver, with the removal of a number of trees and shrubs, as well as the protection of retained trees to safeguard them during construction. The long-term traffic management will be in place for until May 2027.
