Firefighters were called to two separate outdoor fires in Buckinghamshire over the weekend, with crews tackling a vegetation blaze in Chesham and a shed fire in Marlow.

The first incident took place at Douglas Court, Marlow, in the early hours of Saturday, July 5.

Two crews from High Wycombe were sent to the scene at around 3.08am following reports of a fire involving a shed and fence.

Firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to bring the blaze under control.

After extinguishing the fire, crews carried out damping-down operations and turned over affected materials to prevent any re-ignition.

Gas monitoring equipment was also used to check nearby properties, with firefighters confirming there had been no smoke spread to surrounding homes.

A day later, on Sunday, July 6, firefighters were called to an outdoor fire involving vegetation at The Vale in Chesham.

One crew from Amersham attended the incident at approximately 7.44pm.

Crews used water backpacks and buckets to extinguish the blaze before spending around an hour carrying out water shuttles, damping down and turning over vegetation to ensure the fire did not reignite.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has not reported any injuries in either incident.

The two call-outs came during a period of hot and dry weather across Buckinghamshire, with firefighters continuing to urge residents to take care when outdoors and to report fires as quickly as possible.

However, the exact cause of each blaze is not known.
