A pair of drivers have been fined and given penalty points for exceeding the speed limit on the M4.

Stephen Roth, 40, of Greenhead, Mauchline, was caught speeding 87mph, above the 70mph limit, on the M4 westbound between junctions 8 Maidenhead and 9 and 10 (Bracknell) on August 28 last year.

He appeared in Wycombe Magistrates' Court on July 29 this year.

Roth was fined £220, handed three penalty points, and ordered to pay £120 in costs.

Another driver, Rodney Faul, 63, of Stockwell Lane, Little Meadle, Aylesbury, was caught driving at 81mph in a 70mph zone, between junctions 10 and 8/9, on June 10 last year.

Faul was fined £40, received three penalty points, and must pay £120 in costs plus a £16 surcharge by August 28.

He avoided disqualification due to both his health and the effect on his business partner.

Both cases were heard at court following guilty pleas.
