Two arrests have been made following a man being attacked in Chesham last night.

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault and disorder in the early hours of this morning, May 16.

At around 1.45am, a man with a knife got out of a white Toyota Prius and attacked another man in Britannia Road.

The victim then fled to Brockhurst Road, where around 30 people were involved in disorder, police say.

Officers attended and dispersed the group.

Two men from Chesham, aged 23 and 59, have been arrested and remain in police custody.

The victim, who is in his thirties, suffered multiple cuts and bruises, but has since been discharged from hospital.

Police believe the incident was a targeted attack with those involved all known to each other.

In a Facebook post, Thames Valley Police South Buckinghamshire said: "We understand this assault and disorder in the early hours of this morning may be concerning for the community but we believe it was a targeted incident with those involved all known to each other.

"Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to a uniformed officer.

"We quickly dispersed the group involved in the disorder and have had officers in the area throughout the day as part of our investigation.

"Any witnesses or anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43260242220."
