Two arrests were made after a 'suspicious person' incident in Amersham.

Police have said that at around 7.30pm on Thursday, August 6, they were made aware of a ‘suspicious person’ incident where a man with a knife was seen in Chiltern Avenue.

Following the incident, a 23-year-old man from Amersham was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, assault by bearing of an emergency worker, racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress, threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place and possession of a weapon in a private place.

Another 23-year-old man, also from Amersham was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence an concern in the supply of a controlled class B drug.

They have both been released on police bail.
