A man from Amersham tragically died suddenly and unexpectedly aged just 25.

Stephen John Jessop passed away on July 7 of an unknown condition.

Stephen's parents spoke of their heartbreak, saying: "‘We are simply devastated by Stephens death. As well as being his parents we were his friends, and we simply could not have wished for a better son.”

His sister Jo paid tribute to Stephen, saying that Stephen ‘leaves the world a better place for him having been in it’.

Jo said: “Stephen would strike up friendships with strangers, taking a real interest in the stories of the person he might be seated next to on the train, or the corner shop owner. He had a huge heart and sat with the homeless giving encouragement.

“He had spoken of three particular people and our family have made arrangements with Wycombe Homeless services to share this tragic news with these individuals so they can be supported.

“From his childhood and intellectual promise, through great friendships and hard work, from his love of learning, and his family - Stephen leaves a legacy, leaving the world a better place for him having been in it.

“He will leave a void in many people’s lives which at this time looks impossible to fill.”

Stephens intellect was noticeable from a young age, and his former school have said that they will be renaming an award in his honour.

John Fletcher, headteacher of Beaconsfield School: “Stephen was a very popular and hardworking student at The Beaconsfield School who achieved extremely well academically, gaining 9 A*/A grades at GCSE and A levels in Maths A, Chemistry A and Geography B.

“It seems fitting for such a hardworking and kind student who’s attitude to work, and outcomes should inspire other students to reach his high standards that we put his name to our award for Academic Excellence.

“This will be awarded for the first time in July 2020. Our thoughts are with Stephen’s family at this very difficult time.”

Stephen’s family have set up a Just Giving page in order to raise money for Stephen’s funeral costs and to support charities close to the family.

On the page, many people who knew Stephen have left tributes. A tribute from Leticia Macedo reads: “An amazing soul I was so lucky to work with! I will always remember his infectious smile and all the knowledge he gave me! My prayers are with the family.”

Another tribute from Sarah Parker said: “I met Stephen at work and absolutely loved talking to him. I learnt so much from him. He will not be forgotten.”
