A police helicopter was called to High Wycombe after reports of a person failing to stop for the police.

Residents reported the helicopter circling overheard around the Downley area at around 4.56pm yesterday afternoon (March 4).

The National Police Air Service confirmed that they were called to assist Thames Valley Police after an incident.

A spokesperson said: "At 1656hrs on 4 March 2026, a police helicopter crew from Benson were deployed to support Thames Valley Police in an area search following a reported fail to stop in the High Wycombe area.

 "Total flying time on the task was around 14 minutes."
