A teenager has suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a car and two bicycles on a country road.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed that the incident happened at around 11.05pm on Thursday, August 6, on the A4010, approximately 100 metres north of Little Kimble Railway Station near Princes Risborough.

The collision involved a black BMW X1 and two bicycles carrying three teenage boys.

One of the boys sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.

A second teenager suffered minor injuries, while the third was uninjured.

Police said the driver of the BMW failed to stop at the scene following the collision.

A 36-year-old man from Reading has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.

He remains in police custody at the time of writing.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Oliver Cahill-Smith said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this collision and would urge anyone who witnessed it, or who may have relevant footage, to please come forward.

“If you have dash-cam footage or are a resident who may have CCTV or doorcam footage, please come forward.
