A supermarket chain is creating 70 new jobs in Buckinghamshire for the festive season.

Aldi is hiring for permanent store positions across the county to meet growing demand during the Christmas period and beyond, with roles including store assistants, managers, and cleaners.

The recruitment drive supports Aldi’s plans to open a new store every week until the end of the year, as part of its long-term goal to reach 1,500 UK stores.

Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: "At Aldi, our goal is to make high-quality, affordable food accessible to everyone – and at Christmas, demand for that always increases.

"That’s why we’re bringing more colleagues into our stores, ensuring we continue to deliver the very best experience for our shoppers."

Aldi remains the highest-paying supermarket in the UK, offering store assistants a starting rate of £13.02 per hour nationally, and £14.35 inside the M25.

The retailer also offers paid breaks to all members of staff, estimated to be worth more than £1,425 annually for the average store worker.

Ms Stokes said: "Our people are at the heart of our success, and once again we’ll be closing all our stores on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
