A Stokenchurch preschool has recently received a generous donation from a nearby shop, with the money going towards new furniture.

Stokenchurch Community Preschool, who were established in 1971, are a charity run preschool who heavily rely on donations and fundraisers to stay afloat.

And after setting their goal of fundraising £2500 to purchase new desks and equipment last year, the preschool received a total of £594.24 from CJ Stores on Wednesday, November 19.

CJ Stores donated the money which came from a percentage of the sales they made after selling Co-op products over the last year.

Angela Hawkins, Stokenchurch Community Preschool’s manager said: “It is fantastic that one local business is supporting another local business and it means a lot to all the staff and children, who will all benefit from their kind donation and keeping community spirit alive"

"We are hoping that our Christmas raffle and toy auction will allow us to raise the rest of the money to complete our order for the new furniture, which in turn will create a positive, exciting learning environment for the children"

“The donation will is part of phase one of our furniture fundraiser and this has really helped us out a lot.

“It is always so difficult to try and organising a fundraising event for a small charity, so a generous donation like the one we received is fantastic.”
