Global musician and regular chart topper Ed Sheeran has revealed that a service station in Buckinghamshire is one of his favourite places to visit.

The 35-year-old, who has had 11 UK number ones, went on the Capital Radio Breakfast Show on September 22 and told hosts Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby about his fondness for Beaconsfield Services along the M40.

Stark, a self-proclaimed motorway services enthusiast, went even further than this on the Proper Tasty podcast that he hosts alongside Tom Kerridge, quipping: “I’ve been on worse holidays than going to Beaconsfield services.”

Additionally, fellow British singer, Sam Smith, who told Hits Radio that the venue, which is colloquially known as ‘Becky Serves’, is his ‘favourite’ pitstop in the country due to it being so ‘relaxing’.

Screenwriter Russell T Davies summed up his thoughts about the service station on social media by saying: “Attention all Motorway Service Station fans.

“Which is everyone, yes?

“We found the BEST.

“Beaconsfield Services.

“If I go missing, search Beaconsfield. It is heaven on earth.”

Former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is also a fan, as he was photographed using the McDonald’s outlet in the service station during the 2024 general election campaign.

Tom Dobson, CEO at Extra MSA,  who looks after Beaconsfield Services, said: "Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to have multiple celebrities visit our service stations, but we’re definitely noticing a trend of celebrities now publicly endorsing our sites, and Beaconsfield in particular.

“It’s fantastic to see their enjoyment reflected in media and social channels, and it reinforces what our everyday customers have known all along, that Extra offers more than just a pitstop: it’s a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable place to recharge, whether that’s for a few minutes or a few hours.”
