A group of residents have pitched in to help Santa prepare for a much-loved festive event.

Residents of Blyton House, Bourne End, have been knitting stockings for Santa and his grotto in preparation for the Bourne End Fun Night on December 5.

The annual event, running from 4pm to 8pm, is known for being community-focused and accessible, offering free entry for all to enjoy the lively atmosphere and entertainment.

Santa will be meeting local children in the grotto.

The stockings, which have been the residents’ focus for several weeks, add a unique touch to the grotto this year.

They are perfectly sized for sweet treats and can also serve as a Christmas Eve stocking for a teddy bear.

The event promises more than just Santa's grotto.

It will feature fairground rides, charity stalls, stage performances from local schools and groups, and the switching-on of the winning child's Christmas light.

The event will also have food and drink stalls, a crafts and gifts market, and attractions like a nativity scene.

Free parking is available in nearby office parks and at the train station.
