Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed after a car fire in Chesham overnight.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from Amersham after reports of a car fire on Upper Belmont Road.

The incident took place at 12.02 am this morning (February 3) and saw a cordon put in place.

Residents in the area were told to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.

Two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a dry power extinguisher and a positive pressure ventilation fan were all used to bring the incident under control.

It comes less than 24 hours after a crew from Beaconsfield was called out to another car fire on New Road in High Wycombe.

A car was 'well alight' when firefighters arrived and was later extinguished using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet at around 9.12 am on Monday, February 2.
