A record-breaking musical will be running at the Wycombe Swan.

High Society, which features Helen George, Freddie Fox, and Nigel Lindsay, among others, has embarked on a six-month tour across the UK and Ireland after its successful stint at London's Barbican Theatre.

The musical, based on 'The Philadelphia Story' by Philip Barry, began its tour on July 16 at the Wycombe Swan, where it will be performed until July 18.

The musical's Barbican season was marked by breaking the record for the highest grossing week for a musical, raking in more than £760,000 in a single week.

It also achieved the highest grossing single performance in the theatre's history.

The production is presented by Howard Panter for Trafalgar Theatre Productions and Brian and Dayna Lee.

The show is brought to life by an award-winning creative team, with direction by Rachel Kavanaugh, choreography by Anthony Van Laast, and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley.

Audiences can expect a mix of romance, wit, mistaken identity, and musical charm, featuring Cole Porter classics such as 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,' 'I Love Paris,' 'Well Did You Evah?!,' 'Just One Of Those Things,' 'Let’s Misbehave,' 'You’re Sensational,' and 'True Love."'

Carly Mercedes Dyer continues her role as Liz Imbrie from the Barbican run, while Josefina Gabrielle takes on the role of Mother Lord.

The additional cast for this production includes a host of other talents such as James Hume, Bethany Adamson, and David Austin-Barnes.

High Society, which is expected to deliver a dose of Golden Age musical theatre escapism, follows the story of a society wedding descending into chaos, with old flames and new flames vying for attention as a sharp-eyed tabloid reporter hunts for scandal at a waterfront estate.

The show will continue its tour to other locations, including New Theatre in Cardiff, Cliffs Pavilion in Southend, and Belfast's Grand Opera House.

It will then move on to Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre, Leeds Grand Theatre, and Glasgow's King’s Theatre.

Other stops include Edinburgh Playhouse, Norwich Theatre Royal, The Lowry in Salford, the Churchill Theatre in Bromley, and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin.

The production will also be performed at Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Nottingham's Theatre Royal, and Congress Theatre in Eastbourne.

It's important to note that Helen George will not perform on September 3-5, September 25-26, and October 20-21.
