Plans to install a 98-inch wall mounted TV to a Bucks pub have been given the go-ahead.

Greene King PLC has applied for permission to install the TV at The Marlow Donkey on Station Road.

Marlow Town Council had objected to the plans on the basis of noise and disturbance to residents in the area.

Marlow councillor Anna Crabtree also said: “Having reviewed the comments made by the Environmental Protection Officer, I see that there is mention made of the additional noise generated by the television itself.

“Please can officers ensure that a full assessment is also made of the impact that this screen is likely to have on the usage of the outdoor space too (i.e. increased noise levels generated by patrons) and the impact that this may have on residential amenity before a decision is taken on this application.”

In planning documents submitted with the application it was argued that the scheme would benefit the building by increasing its appeal.

The plans stated: “This is of particular importance in light of the frequent closures of local pubs and their disappearance as community assets in their own right.

“It is considered that due to its location size, position and no loss of historic material that the proposed represents no harm to the building or conservation area.

“Its position, and form ensure that it will not appear dominant or detract from the historic form of the property and would therefore have no impact on the special interest in the building.”

Neighbours also raised concerns about noise and anti-social behaviour as a result of the works.

Plans to create dropped kerb access to a house in High Wycombe have been approved.
Red Kite Community Housing applied for the works to the house on Ashdown Road in the town.
A Buckinghamshire Council highways officer said they has no objections to the plans subject to a condition.
They said: “The hardstanding shall be used for parking purposes until the new means of access hereby permitted has been sited and laid out in accordance with the approved drawing and constructed in accordance with the Buckinghamshire Council guide note.
“In order to minimise danger, obstruction and inconvenience to users of the highway and of the development.”

Plans to demolish a bungalow and build a self-build house in Chesham have been refused.
Ms Harper application for the works at the house on Lycrome Road were turned down by Buckinghamshire Council.
In the decision notice refusing permission the council said: “The proposed dwelling, by reason of its height, high eaves and overall bulk and massing, as well as its modern design which includes a shallow pitched roof in a squat form, and extensive glazing, would not reflect the rural character of the area which is predominently formed of bungalows constructed in a traditional style facing onto the green.
“The proposal would therefore result in an incongruous
development.”
