A primary school enjoyed a fun-filled sports afternoon thanks to support from a neighbouring grammar school.

Pupils from St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Marlow took part in the activities, which were organised and led by teacher Jose Sharps, with the sessions delivered by students from Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School.

The event brought together children, staff and families for a memorable afternoon focused on participation, teamwork, and enjoying sport.

"It was wonderful to see our children so engaged and enthusiastic throughout the afternoon."

The event, created and led by Mr Sharps, included a carousel of activities aimed at building skills and confidence while ensuring every child could take part.

Borlase pupils took charge of the stations, earning praise from staff for their maturity and leadership.

Mrs Boyle said: "A special thank you goes to the Borlase pupils, who led the sessions with such confidence, maturity and enthusiasm.

"It was fantastic to see the older students taking the lead and acting as such positive role models for our pupils."

St Peter's pupils approached each activity with energy and excitement, moving between stations while developing teamwork, sporting ability, and self-belief.

The school also thanked sports coach David Joy for his ongoing commitment to supporting St Peter’s pupils.

He works with the children weekly to develop their athletic skills and prepare them for events such as this one.

Parents in attendance were full of praise for the organisation, the range of activities, and the positive interaction between the two schools.

Many commented on the Borlase students’ professionalism and the enjoyment of the St Peter’s children.

The event highlighted the value of collaboration between schools and the role of sport in building confidence, inspiring young people, and strengthening community ties.
