Gareth Ainsworth confirmed Wycombe will be without midfielder Dominic Gape for this weekend’s clash against Luton Town.

The Hatters travel to Adams Park after the Chairboys have won back-to-back league games for only the second time this season.

Gape was stretchered off in the Easter Friday win against Blackburn Rovers and his manager confirmed he will still be sidelined for this weekend.

Ainsworth said: "Dominic Gape will probably be out for the Luton but there are a lot of other players really close to coming out of the treatment room.

“We have a pretty strong squad for Luton so I am really pleased about that.”

Joe Jacobson was forced off just before half-time in Wycombe’s previous fixture against Rotherham but his injury is not as severe as first expected.

This means the Ainsworth is hoping to have an almost fully fit squad to pick from in an all-important match against Nathan Jones’ side.

The Wycombe boss continued: “We picked up one or two knocks, JJ we will assess but it is not as bad as we thought.

“We are really looking forward to picking from a full squad from today's (Thursday) training which will be key to see who comes through okay.

“It is only Gape who is 100 percent ruled out everyone else will have a chance which is good.”

With a fully fit side, Ainsworth is confident that the Chairboys can produce the results needed to give the club a chance of a great escape.

He continued: “I made four signings in the summer and two of them were out until January and I think that coincides with our form since having everyone available.

“With a full squad I know what we’ve got and we are more than good enough to stay in the Championship but unfortunately it hasn’t panned out that way.

“Since the turn of the year we would probably be a mid-table side and that is very nice to see.”
