Police are warning drivers in Wycombe to be vigilant following a rise in theft from motor vehicles.

Officers say most of the recent incidents have involved cars parked in public places during the warmer weather.

As more people spend time outdoors, Thames Valley Police are reminding motorists to take extra precautions to keep their vehicles and belongings secure.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Always lock your car when you leave it unattended with no exceptions, make sure to double check it is locked rather than just trusting the lock button.

"Make sure windows and sunroofs are closed, leaving them open even slightly risks a thief finding a way to unlock the car or fish items out of your vehicle.

"Avoid leaving valuables or important items in your car and if you must, make sure they are out of sight.

"It is not just tech devices and loose coins that are at risk, many items could be of interest to opportunistic thieves if it means quick money for them."
