A police helicopter has been used in a manhunt after reports of people being threatened with a knife at a Bucks skate park.

The aircraft was spotted in the air after multiple reports were made of a young person carrying a large knife at the skate park in Buckingham.

The helicopter was used to help locate those matching the descriptions given during the incident on Sunday afternoon (June 7).

Officers detained people who they believed to be involved and a large knife was recovered at the scene.

One male was arrested following further investigations at the skate park and was taken into police custody.

A police spokesperson said: "To address speculation as to the incident at the Skate Park in Buckingham this afternoon, we can confirm the following.

"The allegations made today, are now being investigated.

"There was a large number of youths at the Skate Park this afternoon, and from reports made, several people may have been threatened or shown a knife.

"These reports are taken extremely seriously, no matter the ages of those involved.

"We cannot reiterate enough the dangers of carrying knives and the consequences that come with doing so."
