An investigation is still on going after armed police responded to reports of a weapon in a vehicle in High Wycombe.

On Monday July 6 armed officers responded to reports of a weapon in a vehicle that was stopped outside of the 'Little Gym' in Handy Cross and the linked nursery.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "At around 5pm yesterday, officers were made aware of a report of a weapon in a vehicle on Marlow Hill Road, High Wycombe.

"Armed officers were deployed at the scene, with no arrests being made or weapons being found following searches.

"Police presence continued to patrol in the area, but there was no wider risk to the public.

"An investigation into this incident is still ongoing."

Officers have continued to assure residents that there is no wider risk to the public.
