The proposal is to install the new signs at The Swan in High Street, the proposed scheme is described as “proportionate” to the existing level at the site.

It said: “The scheme shall improve the overall appearance of the building when compared to the existing arrangement and represents a significant investment in the locally listed building.

“On that basis it is considered to sympathetically respond to the character and appearance of the building and wider Conservation Area.

“The proposed advertisement would not undermine the building’s identity as a pub nor harm its integrity as a Building of Townscape Merit.

“The proposed works have been designed to respect external features associated with the pub and have adopted a suitable architectural approach which complies with both Local Plan Polices and the NPPF.”

It added: “Collectively, the adverts employ high‑quality materials including aluminium, acrylic, timber, and gold leaf, alongside a restrained colour palette of Dulux Heritage Ash White and Ravens Flight.

“Illumination is limited to external LED fittings in warm white, which provide appropriate visibility while avoiding excessive brightness or harm to the building’s historic fabric.”
