Patrols have been carried out around West Wycombe's Hellfire Caves after reports of people 'acting suspiciously'.

Police were called to the tourist site at around 11pm on Friday, May 1 following sightings of people in the area.

Two officers attended the scene, though they said it was 'all in order up there'.

A male was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act during the patrols after he was allegedly seen smoking cannabis.

The individual is now due to participate in an online drugs diversion course.

The force shared images from the patrol which saw them attend the Hellfire Caves on Church Street, as well as the nearby Dashwood Mausoleum.

A ghost hunter previously described the caves as the 'creepiest' place he has ever visited with several claims of 'paranormal activity' at the site having been made in the past.

The site has also been used for filming, with Midsomer Murders and Silent Witness among the programmes that have been shot there.
