A hit musical is coming to Wycombe as part of its world tour.

Operation Mincemeat, the award-winning production currently running in the West End, will run at the Wycombe Swan Theatre from September 28 until October 3.

This UK leg launches a global tour across four continents, with stops including the USA, Australia, Canada, China, Mexico and New Zealand.

SpitLip, the show's writers and composers, said: "We're so excited to see Operation Mincemeat heading out on a world tour next year, and the fact that it's all kicking off at The Lowry, Salford – a venue who have fiercely championed us as theatre makers for over a decade, and where some of us made our professional debuts – is incredibly special.

Reprising their acclaimed roles, West End alumnae Christian Andrews, Seán Carey, Charlotte Hanna-Williams, and Holly Sumpton will return to the stage, joined for the tour by Jamie-Rose Monk.

Also joining the company are Katy Ellis, Georgina Hagen, Jordan Pearson, and Morgan Phillips.

Set in 1943, Operation Mincemeat tells the wildly improbable and hilarious true story of the covert operation that turned the tide of WWII.

The musical blends farce, thriller, and spy caper, and has drawn comparisons to Mel Brooks, Hamilton, and One Man, Two Guvnors.

Operation Mincemeat began as a low-budget fringe production at London’s New Diorama Theatre in 2019 before building a cult following and transferring to the West End.

Since then, it has won the Olivier and WhatsOnstage Awards for Best New Musical and earned 88 five-star reviews and counting.
