Thorpe House School has officially opened its new co-educational sixth form.

The school, based in Gerrards Cross, said the new sixth form marks a "significant milestone" in the school's history.

The school said that the new sixth form has been "carefully designed" to provide students with preparation for life after school.

Students in the new sixth form will learn in small class sizes, have personalised teaching, and access to pastoral care, the school said.

The new sixth form will also focus on personal development, leadership, and independence, to equip students for "success at university, in apprenticeships, or in their future careers."

The launch event was attended by local MP Sarah Green, and Gerrards Cross mayor, Prerna Bhardwaj.

School governors, the Friends of Thorpe House Committee, teachers, and pupils from Reception through to Year 13 also attended.

Their presence was said to "underline the importance" of this new addition to the school and the community.

The sixth form will continue Thorpe House School's tradition of being a "close-knit, supportive community" and will provide students with independence and opportunities.

Jake Burnett, headteacher at Thorpe House School, said: "The opening of our Sixth Form is a proud and historic moment for Thorpe House.

"It represents our commitment to nurturing confident, ambitious, and resilient young adults who are ready to make their mark on the world.

"We are excited to see our students flourish in this new space and to support them every step of the way."
