A restaurant that has recently opened in High Wycombe has received its first food hygiene score.

Mr T’s, which is based along White Hart Street in the town, unveiled itself to the South Buckinghamshire public on December 5, was assessed by Buckinghamshire Council on January 23.

They were impressed with what they saw, as they gave the fast-food joint a score of 5/5 – the highest rating possible.

During their visit, they said that the restaurant’s hygiene/safety, structural compliance and confidence in management were all ‘good’.

The eatery offers burgers, munch boxes, pizzas, chips, as well as numerous desserts and warm drinks such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

After opening its first outlet in Bradford, West Yorkshire, more outlets across the county were launched, eventually making their way down south, as Mr T’s launched in Reading and Ilford.

High Wycombe’s Mr T’s branch replaces the town’s former Wimpy outlet, which closed in the spring of 2025.

Speaking on the opening in High Wycombe, one of the proprietors, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: “With every business, there are hurdles to overcome as you can’t predict certain things – you just have to get up and get on with it.

“We really liked Wimpy – it played a huge part in our childhood as our family used to take us there from a young age, so when we found out that it was for sale, we were definitely interested.

“Initially, we wanted to run as a Wimpy, but the financial situation with them wasn’t the best, so we thought this would be a great place to run Mr T’s - a British brand is kicking out an American brand.

“I believe we will fit in well with the town, as this area is known for its food.”

At the time of writing, the restaurant in High Wycombe has a score of 4.7/5 from 158 reviews.

One reads: “Lovely staff [as they] made me and my family feel at home.

“So welcome and tasty food looking food!”

Another reads: “The customer service was really nice.

“I was served by Areebah, and she was lovely, and the food was exquisite.

“I’d definitely recommend coming here and tasting the food.

“Absolutely amazing workers.”

This customer said: “Honestly, really good food.

“I tried the burgers and zinger, and both were fresh and full of flavour.

“Service was quick, and the staff were friendly.

“You can tell they care about quality.
