Police have launched a murder investigation and are carrying out searches of fields in Stoke Poges as part of an inquiry into the disappearance of a man who went missing more than four years ago.

Thames Valley Police confirmed officers are searching land on Grays Park Road in connection with the suspected murder of Andrzej Mucha, from Greystoke Road in Slough.

Mr Mucha was 57 years old when he was last seen. He was reported missing on December 30, 2021, with his last known contact with family taking place on November 29, 2021.

The case was initially treated as a missing person investigation before being upgraded to a murder probe in April 2022 following Mr Mucha’s unexplained disappearance. His body has never been found.

Detective Superintendent Andy Howard, of Thames Valley Police, said:
“The force is currently carrying out searches in a field on Grays Park Road, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, and we are likely to be at that location for a number of days.

“I would like to thank the community for their support and understanding while we are in the area carrying out these searches in connection with the investigation into the murder of Andrzej Mucha in Slough in 2021.”

Police confirmed Mr Mucha’s family is being kept fully updated on the progress of the investigation.

In November, two men were extradited to Poland to face trial in connection with Mr Mucha’s disappearance.
