Multiple people have been injured after being attacked in a busy High Wycombe street by a topless man.

Police were called to Desborough Road yesterday (October 2) after a number of people were assaulted by a man.

The incident happened at around 2.20pm near Bridge Street.

None of the injured people required hospital treatment.

But now the force has revealed that a 25-year-old man from Luton has been arrested.

He was arrested on suspicion of assault and assaulting an emergency worker and remains in police custody.

The force is appealing for witnesses to come forward and has released a description of the alleged offender.

He is described as a white man with dark hair and of slim build.

He was wearing jeans and trainers but had no top on.  

Investigating officer, PC Daniel Robertshaw said, “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this assault, or anyone who may have information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch.
