A motorist has been banned from the roads after being caught speeding at 58mph on the M4.

Andrew Stewart was driving a Vauxhall between junctions seven and six near Slough when he was caught by an automatic camera.

High Wycombe Magistrates' Court heard how a 50mph variable speed limit was in place at the time of the offence on January 15 this year.

The 45-year-old, of Spinney Lane, Winkfield pleaded guilty to a single count of exceeding a variable speed limit during a hearing on October 1.

He was banned from driving for six months and was given six points on his licence.

The court also ordered him to pay a £123 fine, £120 court costs and a £49 surcharge.

The money must be paid in full by October 29.
