A woman has been banned from the roads after causing serious injury in a crash in a residential street.

Linda Jackson was disqualified for 12 months at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court after a crash on Wootton Road, Henley-on-Thames.

The court heard how a man had been seriously hurt during the incident on June 5 last year.

Jackson, who was driving a Toyota RAV4, went on to plead guilty to a single count of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.

As well as the ban, she was ordered to pay £250 compensation and a £609 fine.

The 69-year-old, of Furze Road, Maidenhead, must also pay court costs of £85 and a £244 surcharge.

A victim personal statement was read out by the prosecutor in court.
