A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug-and driving-related offences in Aylesbury.

Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Proactive Team stopped a silver Seat Leon in Chesterfield Place shortly after 3pm on Tuesday (June 2).

Following a search of the vehicle and the driver, the man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, cannabis.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

However, he was also reported for summons to court for driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without valid third-party insurance.

The arrest forms part of an ongoing crackdown on drug and illegal driving activity in the town.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Information from the public plays a vital role in helping us identify and target those involved in criminal activity.

“When concerns are reported to us, we listen and take action.

“If you have information about suspected drug-related activity in your area, please report it.”
