A man has been arrested in Aylesbury for suspected drugs and weapons possession. 

The 25-year-old, from Aylesbury, was taken into custody in Somerville Way shortly after 3pm on Tuesday, June 2.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B controlled drug (cannabis) and possession of a knife or sharp object in a public place.

A search at a linked address led to further allegations of possessing a prohibited firearm (under 30cm/60cm in length) and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.

The man remains in custody.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Information from the public plays a vital role in helping us identify and tackle criminal activity in our communities.

"When concerns are reported to us, we listen and take action."
