A 29-year-old man from Hounslow has been arrested following a stabbing in High Wycombe.

Thames Valley Police said officers were called to reports of an assault in Frances Dove Way at around 3.30am on Friday, September 4.

Police and South Central Ambulance Service crews attended the scene, where a man was found with a stab wound, where he was taken to hospital with a ‘life-threatening condition.’

Following the incident, part of Frances Dove Way near The Rye was cordoned off while officers carried out forensic enquiries.

A scene watch remained in place for a period of time and there was an increased police presence in the area.

It has since been confirmed that one man has been arrested in connection with the investigation but has been released on conditional bail.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Anyone with footage of the area or information is urged to contact the force via our website where you can leave information, call 101, quoting investigation number INC 20260904-0211, or speak to an officer at the scene."

It is understood that part of The Rye was also taped off by authorities before later reopening.

Independent Totteridge and Bowerdean councillor Julia Wassell said: "I was sorry to hear of this serious act of violence and hope that the man makes a good recovery and the offender is caught and prosecuted."

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
