Love Island star Teddy Soares, who comes from High Wycombe, revealed his royal connection on the show.

The 26-year-old shared his secret on Saturday night's Love Island: Unseen Bits chatting to some of the other contestants before the boys headed to Casa Amor.

Whilst discussing the fact that he's half Nigerian Teddy revealed to the group that he actually used to be royalty.

He said: "I'm going to say something so shocking, I'm actually a Prince of one of them."

The other islanders looked stunned leaving Teddy to further explain his royal past.

Teddy continued: "It's like a village, it's within the Delta State village.

“So, my grandad who has obviously passed away, so I'm actually no longer a prince, I was a prince.”

Teddy now has over 200,000 followers on Instagram. He had around 6,000 when he joined the show: 

He now lives in Manchester but went to school in High Wycombe and worked in the town.

According to someone who went to school with him, Teddy attended Saint Bernard's Catholic School, which went on to become known as St Michael's Catholic School.

His LinkedIn page reveals Teddy also went to Henley College and worked in Cressex at Biffa as a customer service representative back in 2014.

Posts on his Instagram page shows him making previous visits to the Crazy Bear hotel in Beaconsfield as well as spending Christmas in High Wycombe.

After returning from Casa Amor Teddy was left gutted when he arrived back to find his partner Faye had coupled up with someone new.

The pair have now rekindled their relationship as the former Prince looks continue his journey in the villa.
