A HUGE community celebration is set to take over Adams Park as High Wycombe marks a major milestone this summer - and everyone is invited.

The Rotary Club of High Wycombe is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a large-scale “Community Together” event at Wycombe Wanderers’ ground on Saturday, July 18, promising live entertainment, family activities and charity showcases.

The free event, opened by the Mayor of High Wycombe at midday, is expected to attract thousands of residents for an afternoon of performances, games, stalls and behind-the-scenes stadium tours.

Organisers say the day is about bringing the town together while highlighting the impact Rotary has had locally over the past century.

A spokesperson said: “It will be a great day celebrating the strength of the community spirit in Wycombe, with many local groups and charities having a stall alongside lots of activities for children of all ages.

“There will be shows on the stage throughout the afternoon including dance and music, and tours of the stadium are on offer.”

Visitors can expect performances from groups including Rock Choir, Chiltern Music Academy and SV2G Steel Pan Band, alongside a dog show, craft stalls and community displays. Food and drink will be available, with Wycombe Wanderers’ facilities open throughout the day.

The event forms part of a wider programme of celebrations as the club marks its centenary on July 26, having been founded in 1926.

Over the past 100 years, the Rotary Club has supported a wide range of causes, from local charities such as One Can Trust and Thames Valley Air Ambulance to youth initiatives including Young Chef, Youth Speaks and school reading programmes.

Members have also taken part in fundraising challenges and events, from dragon boat racing to festive sleigh runs, helping to raise thousands of pounds for good causes.

The spokesperson added: “Our aim has always been to support as many local organisations and charities as we can, and to make a real difference in our community.

“We hope this celebration will bring people together and showcase the fantastic work being done across Wycombe.”

Residents can attend the event for free, with organisers encouraging people to register online in advance to secure parking.
