A High Wycombe woman is set to take the skies in a thrilling charity feat to raise money for the Bucks MRI appeal.

Sandra Barnett will walk along the wings of an airplane during flight in an attempt to raise money for Scannappeal.

Scannappeal seeks to fund more advanced medical equipment for local patients.

The Bucks MRI Appeal is a campaign specifically hoping to raise £1.5 million for the purchase of two new scanners for both Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville hospital.

22,000 local patients have an MRI scan at Wycombe or Stoke Mandeville hospital every year. Sandra hopes to raise as much money as she can so that Bucks patients with clinical specialities of all kinds can benefit from a faster, more effective service. If achieved these local hospitals will be the first in the UK to have MRI scanners of this kind.

Daring fundraiser, Sandra comments: “These MRI scanners will help thousands of people throughout Bucks!

“I have funded this Wing Walk myself so all proceeds will go to the MRI appeal. I have always wanted to do this but not had the courage or guts to do it. I have been going through my bucket list and this has always been at the top.

“I’m biting the bullet and going for it. Last year I did the tandem skydive for Scannappeal which was amazing.”
